Apple announced it will hire 20,000 people in the United States. The new $2.5 billion commitment is part of the company's expanded $600 billion investment plan over the next four years in the US. The company is collaborating with suppliers to accelerate US production through a new "Made in America" initiative. Initial partners include Corning, Applied Materials, Texas Instruments, and Samsung. Corning will dedicate its Harrodsburg plant entirely to Apple production, increasing its Kentucky workforce by 50%.
