BMW plans to access DeepSeek's AI technology for new models in Chinese market within year

BMW Group announced on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Shanghai auto show that it plans to access DeepSeek's AI technology for new models in the Chinese market within the year.

BMW said that the first China-exclusive new-generation BMW model has rolled off the production line and started full testing in Shenyang, and will soon be mass-produced in 2026.

In addition, Deepseek will "be available" in a number of new BMW vehicles on sale within the year.

At the show, the company presented for the first time two China-specific AI agents, "Car Genius" and "Travel Companion", which will be equipped in the new generation of BMW models produced in China in the future.
