BYD Shenzhen-Shantou: Building a domestically produced high-end new energy vehicle super factory

In August 2021, BYD signed its first contract with the Shenzhen-Shantou Industrial Park. Over the past four years, BYD has invested over 31.5 billion yuan in four phases of projects in the city, with the Shenzhen-Shantou Industrial Park providing BYD with approximately 5.13 square kilometers of land. Phase I is currently at full production, with Phase II production capacity continuing to ramp up. Phase III's PACK battery and new energy vehicle component projects and Phase IV's battery pack PACK projects commenced production in the first half of the year. From contract signing to implementation, these projects have consistently set new standards for "Shenzhen-Shantou speed." It is estimated that the annual output value of the BYD Shenzhen-Shantou Industrial Park, a world-class "super factory," will reach 220 billion yuan at full capacity.
