Chinese electric car maker BYD's plant in Cambodia is set to start production in the fourth quarter of this year.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday in Sihanoukville for BYD's Cambodia passenger vehicle plant, the country's first production base for new energy vehicles.
Liu Xueliang, general manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, said the BYD Cambodia passenger car plant will focus on the production of new energy vehicles with an annual capacity of 10,000 units.
The BYD executive said the plant will go into operation in the fourth quarter.
