Brazil and China recently signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). According to the Brazilian Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the agreement focuses on addressing risks related to AI and training professionals, as well as cooperation in training large language models and multimodal systems, and promoting academic and technical exchanges among universities and research centers. The estimated investment is 23 billion Brazilian reals. The initial validity period of the agreement is 3 years and can be renewed.
