Broadcom is taking bold steps to try to get a bigger piece of the hot AI infrastructure market. Last weekend, the chip giant began mass production of its most powerful data center switch chip to date, the Tomahawk6. Early customers, including top cloud service providers and network equipment companies, have begun deploying this chip to form the world's largest GPU cluster. Although the specific customer names were not disclosed, Veraga hinted that there are more than 100,000 GPU deployment cases. Considering that usually one switch is required for every 10 GPUs, its market potential is evident.
