ByteDance's security and risk control department issued an email saying that in order to prevent the risk of data leakage, third-party AI development software, including AI programming tools Cursor and Windsurf, will be disabled in batches internally from June 30, and ByteDance's programming assistant Trae will be used as an alternative. In March this year, ByteDance launched the domestic version of Trae, claiming it to be "the first AI native integrated development environment tool (AI IDE) in China." The previously released overseas version of Trae has launched a paid plan this week, and the Pro version charges $3/month for the first month.
