CITIC Securities: Broadcom's new generation of switch chips delivered with focus on optical communications opportunities
CITIC Securities Research Report believes that recently, Broadcom revealed that its new generation Tomahawk 6 switching chip has started delivery, and customer demand is currently very strong. The performance of Tomahawk 6 has been significantly improved and can support cluster deployment of millions of XPUs. The research report believes that network rate upgrades and computing power cluster expansion are still long-term development trends, and the mass production of Tomahawk 6 is expected to promote the rapid growth of demand for 1.6T optical modules and data center interconnection (DCI). At the same time, Tomahawk 6 also released a co-packaged optical technology (CPO) version, which is expected to promote the maturity of the CPO solution. Therefore, CITIC Securities believes that optical module/device manufacturers who have deeply deployed high-speed data communication modules, DCI interconnection and CPO solutions are expected to benefit.
