The star investor stated that OpenAI, Anthropic, Musk's xAI, and Google's Gemini are vying for dominance, and the competition is fierce. She noted that the current four contenders may eventually narrow to two. In a recent interview, Wood stated, "The number of companies competing, truly competing, in the Large Language Model (LLM) space has shrunk." She cited recent "talent acquisitions" by OpenAI and Meta as examples of a shrinking AI field that "other companies can't do." Notably, Meta is not among the Big Four companies Wood mentioned.
