According to Douyin Blackboard, recently, we found that someone posted on social media that ByteDance arbitrarily cancelled their options after they left the company. The content of the relevant post is inconsistent with the facts, and the company will not arbitrarily deduct employees' options. After an internal investigation by the company, the relevant situation triggered the option deduction clause because the former employee violated the company's integrity management system and the option grant agreement he signed. The former employee is suspected of defrauding the company's cloud service resources, causing significant economic losses to the company, and has been taken criminal coercive measures by the police in May 2025 for suspected fraud. On July 16, 2025, the company deducted his options and sent him a deduction notice on July 25.
