FAA issues temporary order to reduce flights at Newark Airport
On May 20, local time, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a temporary order requiring a reduction in the arrival and departure rates of flights at Newark Airport in New Jersey. The restriction will take effect immediately on the same day. It is reported that Newark Airport has previously experienced a series of equipment failures, runway construction and staffing problems, which have caused traffic chaos. The Federal Aviation Administration said before meeting with airlines to discuss flight cuts that the airport is clearly unable to cope with the current level of scheduled flight operations.
