French President Emmanuel Macron said at a panel discussion at the VivaTech conference in Paris that France needs to produce the world's most advanced 2 to 10 nanometer semiconductors to gain a place in the technology supply chain. Macron acknowledged that to achieve this goal, multinational companies such as TSMC or Samsung may need to set up manufacturing plants in France.
