LG Energy Solution announced on Tuesday that it has established a battery recycling joint venture with French environmental service provider Derichebourg, which will invest in the construction of a battery recycling plant.
In this new joint venture, the two companies have a 50-50 shareholding each.
The new plant, sited in Bruyères-sur-Oise in northern France, is expected to start construction in 2026 and go into operation in 2027, with an annual processing capacity of more than 20,000 tons.
LG Energy Solution is South Korea's largest battery maker, supplying batteries to carmakers such as Tesla, General Motors and Renault.
