At the 2025 Meituan Robotics Research Institute Academic Annual Meeting, Mao Nianyi, Vice President of Meituan and Chairman of the Institute, revealed significant progress in the intelligent obstacle avoidance system for drones developed jointly with the IDEA Research Institute. By upgrading the cloud-based large-scale visual model, the system's recall rate for identifying complex aerial targets such as kites, balloons, and cranes has increased by nearly 30 percentage points, while the false detection rate has dropped to 0.68%. After extensive testing and verification, these achievements have now been implemented in complex delivery scenarios such as parks.
