According to the latest data released by Meituan, on the first day of the holiday, hundreds of tables were lined up online in restaurants in popular business districts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and tea shops were waiting for more than a dozen cups. As of around 1 p.m., the number of online orders for dining in restaurants on the platform reached an instantaneous peak of the day, an increase of 73% year-on-year, with the most demand for snacks, fast food and drinks.
