Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said on Tuesday that up to 30% of the company's codebase is now generated by artificial intelligence. "I estimate that about 20% to 30% of the code in our codebase is probably written entirely by software," Nadella said in a public conversation with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The two tech giants spoke at Meta's first LlamaCon artificial intelligence developer conference in Menlo Park, California. Nadella added that the percentage of Microsoft's code generated by AI is continuing to rise. When Nadella asked Zuckerberg about the data, the Meta CEO said that while he couldn't give an exact number, he revealed that the company is working on an artificial intelligence system that can autonomously build the next generation of Llama series AI models. "We predict that within the next year... maybe half of the development work will be done by AI instead of humans, and then it will continue to grow," Zuckerberg elaborated.
