An X user asked, "Is Macrohard an actual project currently underway?" Musk responded, "We are indeed spray-painting MACROHARD on the roof of the Colossus II supercomputing cluster in Memphis, in letters so large you can see it from space." Musk had previously stated that he was establishing a purely artificial intelligence software company called Macrohard. It was a tongue-in-cheek name, but the project was real. He said at the time, "Given that software companies like Microsoft don't produce any physical hardware themselves, it should be possible to simulate them entirely with artificial intelligence."
