OpenAI announces shopping capabilities for ChatGPT
OpenAI announced on April 28 that it will test the launch of a shopping function in its artificial intelligence chat assistant ChatGPT. Users will be able to query shopping information through ChatGPT, and ChatGPT will generate product cards based on the query results. Shoppers will not check out within ChatGPT, but will be redirected to the merchant's website to complete the transaction. Adam Fry, head of ChatGPT search products, said that recommendations are naturally generated and do not contain ads. Search results are not sponsored content. OpenAI will work with partners to ensure that ChatGPT displays the latest prices.
