Samsung Electronics' global HBM market share dropped to third in the second quarter, surpassed by Micron

Data released Wednesday showed that Samsung Electronics' share of the global high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chip market slipped to third place in the second quarter, while Micron Technology rose to second place. According to industry tracker Counterpoint Research, Samsung Electronics captured 17% of the global HBM chip market in the second quarter, trailing Micron's 21%. SK Hynix held first place with a 62% market share.
