On June 12, Wang Tao, CEO of AI startup Scale AI, published a letter to all employees, announcing that the company had received a "huge new investment" from Meta. He will leave to join Meta, but will remain as a director of Scale AI to continue to support the company's mission and long-term vision. Wang Tao said that he and the Scale board of directors have agreed to Jason Droege as interim CEO. Droege is working closely with the board of directors to seek to hire a chief technology officer to strengthen the company's engineering team.
