Shenzhen's departure tax refund sales more than tripled this year
According to the Shenzhen Municipal Finance Bureau, Shenzhen's departure tax refund program saw rapid growth and fruitful results in the first half of this year. Sales of tax-refundable goods and the number of transactions processed increased by 1.6 times and 3.9 times year-on-year, respectively. The number of tax-refund shops exceeded 1,000, with 12 "buy now, refund now" shopping districts, among the highest in the country. Departure tax refund points continued to expand, with the addition of points at Futian Port and Shenzhen Bay Port, making Shenzhen the city with the largest number and most comprehensive range of departure tax refund points in the country. Departure tax refund service levels have been significantly enhanced, with the nation's first "one-order, one-stop shop" model, which has reduced the processing time for each transaction by more than half.
