Toyota Industries issued a statement on June 3rd saying that there were media reports that the company would announce that it would accept the privatization proposal, but no specific decision has been made to be publicly disclosed. Toyota Industries said that the board of directors will meet today to discuss the above matters and will disclose the decision in a timely manner. Earlier, media quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that Toyota Motor Chairman Akio Toyoda is seeking to acquire Toyota Industries, a subsidiary, for 6 trillion yen (42 billion US dollars).
