U.S. State Department uses artificial intelligence to help select members of diplomatic selection committee
On June 9 local time, according to a telegram released by the U.S. State Department, the U.S. State Department will use an artificial intelligence chatbot to help it select personnel responsible for annual promotion and transfer reviews. The telegram said that StateChat is an internal chatbot that uses technology from Palantir and Microsoft and will be used to select employees to join the Diplomat Selection Committee. It is reported that the Diplomat Selection Committee is an annual evaluation group responsible for deciding whether and how to promote and transfer State Department employees. A State Department spokesperson said in a statement that the evaluation itself will not be completed by artificial intelligence.
