U.S. stock market closed: the three major U.S. stock indexes closed down, Broadcom rose more than 9%

The three major U.S. stock indices closed lower, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.48%, the S&P 500 down 0.32%, and the Nasdaq Composite down 0.03%. Chip stocks mostly rose, with Broadcom up over 9%, Micron Technology up over 5%, and ASML and TSMC up over 3%, but Nvidia closed down 2.7%.
