U.S. stocks closed sharply lower, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 2.48%, the Nasdaq down 2.55%, and the S&P 500 down 2.36%. Tesla fell nearly 6% as the company postponed plans to manufacture the affordable version of the Model Y in the United States.
