From August 8th to 12th, the 2025 World Robotics Conference was held in Yizhuang, Beijing. In his keynote address, Yushu Technology CEO Wang Xingxing stated that the robotics industry has experienced astonishing growth this year, but the most critical challenge for intelligent robots today and in the future is the "large-scale embodied intelligent robot model." Model development remains slow, architectures are inconsistent, and no major breakthroughs have yet been achieved. For example, the development of large AI language models is still "1-3 years before the birth of ChatGPT." Wang Xingxing also shared the three key areas of focus for intelligent robotics technology over the next two to five years: 1. A unified, end-to-end intelligent robot large-scale model; 2. Lower-cost, longer-lasting hardware and ultra-large-scale mass production; and 3. Low-cost, large-scale computing power, primarily distributed.
