Amazon announced that its Ring video doorbell division is launching an artificial intelligence (AI)-generated notification feature to alert users of unusual or suspicious activity in their homes. The tool uses artificial intelligence to generate text summaries of motion activity captured by Ring doorbells and cameras and displays them in the form of mobile phone notifications. Ring said that these summaries only describe the main content that triggered the alarm and are "intentionally concise" so that users can quickly determine whether it is urgent. The feature will be available in beta to Ring premium subscribers in the United States and Canada starting on June 25.
