Guo Shougang, Deputy Director of the First Department of Equipment Industry and First-Class Inspector of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), stated at the 2025 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference on October 17 that the MIIT will study and formulate the 15th Five-Year Plan for the development of the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry. Furthermore, the MIIT will strengthen production consistency supervision and management of vehicles equipped with integrated driver assistance systems, standardize over-the-air (OTA) upgrade activities, and strengthen corporate responsibility. The MIIT will accelerate the rollout of regulations on motor vehicle production access and improve the exit mechanism for enterprises to ensure a healthy development environment for the industry. Furthermore, the MIIT will continue to improve the development of standards for driver assistance systems, autonomous driving system functional safety, information security, data security, automotive electronics, smart cockpits, connected communications, and artificial intelligence.
