Ministry of Transport: "Implementation Opinions on "Artificial Intelligence + Transportation"" will be released soon

At the 2025 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference press conference, Xing Fansheng, Director of the General Affairs Division of the Ministry of Transport's Science and Technology Department, introduced that the Ministry of Transport is further promoting the "Artificial Intelligence + Transportation" initiative, focusing on the large-scale innovative application of AI in the transportation sector during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. The Ministry is working diligently to issue the "Implementation Opinions on 'Artificial Intelligence + Transportation,'" which will be released and implemented soon. Xing Fansheng mentioned that the Ministry of Transport is further promoting the "Artificial Intelligence + Transportation" initiative, focusing on the large-scale innovative application of AI in the transportation sector, with the following key tasks being addressed. First, the Ministry will expedite the release of the "Implementation Opinions on 'Artificial Intelligence + Transportation,'" which will be released and implemented soon. Second, the Ministry will collaborate with industry and social forces to develop a comprehensive transportation model and accelerate the popularization of intelligent applications. Third, the Ministry will adopt a "technology + engineering" model to promote the implementation of a number of innovative projects focused on typical applications such as autonomous driving of large-scale trucks, autonomous platooning of inland waterway freight vessels, intelligent management and response to major highway disasters, free-flow toll collection on highways, and high-speed maglev systems. Fourth, the Ministry will plan and launch the "Ten, Hundred, Thousand" innovation initiative for "Artificial Intelligence + Transportation," increasing the density of pilot demonstrations and fostering a broad and collaborative force for innovation.

Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China issued Announcement No. 21 of 2025, approving the release of 622 recommended national standards and six amendments to recommended national standards. Among these, GB/T 46268-2025, "Beidou Monitoring System for Agricultural Machinery Operation," and GB/T 46270-2025, "Beidou Autonomous Driving System for Agricultural Machinery," co-developed by Wuhan Yixun Beidou Space-Time Technology Co., Ltd., were officially approved and will take effect on March 1, 2026. This marks the first systematic national standard developed in my country for high-end intelligent agricultural machinery and equipment, marking a new stage of standardized development in the transformation of agricultural mechanization toward "precision, intelligence, and connectivity."

WeRide and Grab partner to launch Ai.R autonomous driving project

WeRide and Pony.ai will launch autonomous driving services in Singapore, each partnering with local companies.

Southeast Asian ride-hailing giant Grab announced on September 20th its plan to launch a self-driving car service in Singapore in partnership with WeRide. Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) has designated Grab to operate WeRide's self-driving vehicles on two fixed routes in the Punggol area. The service will initially include 11 vehicles, a mix of five-seater GXRs and eight-seater Robobuses. Pony.ai also announced its entry into the Singapore market on the same day, partnering with ComfortDelGro to launch a fixed-route self-driving ride service in the Punggol area. Subject to regulatory approval, the service is expected to launch in the coming months.

Tesla gets approval to test self-driving cars in Arizona

Toyota launches the e-Palette, a pure electric vehicle, to address Level 4 autonomous driving
