Huawei's Eric Xu: The proportion of 5G connected vehicles will increase to 95% in the next five years, and the industry should seize the opportunity
During MWC25 Shanghai on June 18, Huawei's rotating chairman Xu Zhijun said in his speech that 5G Internet of Vehicles will account for 30% of China's passenger car sales in 2025, and will gradually increase to 95% from 2026 to 2030. The industry should seize the growth opportunities of intelligent connected vehicles. He believes that cars must be able to perceive and make decisions autonomously during the process of autonomous driving, without relying on the network. The cockpit and the whole vehicle need to be connected to the network, but the needs and business models are different. They should be independent and connected separately. At the same time, the current 5G Internet of Vehicles faces challenges such as the 5GIPR problem, fierce price competition affecting attractiveness, and uneven user experience. Solving the 5GIPR problem requires joint efforts from the mobile communications industry.
