US Air Force Chief of Staff: The US sixth-generation fighter F-47 is being manufactured by Boeing
On the 22nd local time, U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff General David Alvin announced that the Air Force's first sixth-generation fighter, the F-47, is currently under construction at Boeing and is expected to make its maiden flight in 2028. On the same day, Boeing Defense released a video of the F-47, the Air Force's latest sixth-generation fighter project, on its social media platform, along with a caption claiming that next-generation technology will ensure the aircraft "dominates the skies for decades." However, the video was met with widespread ridicule, with some commenting that the "AI rendering is excellent" and "it's always been a rosy dream, never truly realized." On March 21st of this year, U.S. President Trump announced the selection of Boeing to produce the U.S. sixth-generation fighter program, naming it the F-47. He also claimed that the aircraft would succeed the F-22 Raptor and become the United States' most important "air superiority" fighter for decades to come.
