U.S. and Russian space agency leaders to meet to focus on ISS, joint missions
It was learned on July 28 local time that Sean Duffy, interim administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), will hold talks with Dmitry Bakanov, director of the visiting Russian Space Agency, in Houston on July 31. This is the first face-to-face exchange between the leaders of the two agencies since 2018. Topics of the talks include extending the service life of the International Space Station, promoting the US-Russia cross-manned flight plan, and future safe decommissioning and ocean disposal cooperation mechanisms. During this visit, Bakanov will also visit the Johnson Space Center and Boeing Space Project Facilities, and meet with the US-Russia joint crew members who will carry out the SpaceX Crew-11 mission. NASA said it looks forward to continuing to promote international space cooperation while ensuring safety and transparency.
