U.S. stocks closed: the three major indexes closed down

At the close of the U.S. stock market, the three major indexes closed down collectively, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 1.91%, the Nasdaq down 1.41%, and the S&P 500 down 1.62%. Large technology stocks fell across the board, with Tesla and Apple down more than 2%, Microsoft, Amazon and Nvidia down more than 1%, while Google bucked the trend and rose nearly 3%.
