Southbound funds bought over HK$10 billion of Hong Kong stocks for the fourth consecutive day, increasing their holdings in Xiaomi, Tencent, and Meituan.

Southbound funds saw net purchases of HK$12.207 billion today, marking the fourth consecutive day of net purchases exceeding HK$10 billion. These purchases included net purchases of TraHK (HK$3.744 billion), Hang Seng China Enterprises (HK$1.72 billion), Xiaomi Group (HK$1.099 billion), China Southern Hang Seng Technology (HK$855 million), Tencent Holdings (HK$836 million), Meituan (HK$766 million), Innoscience (HK$363 million), CSPC Pharmaceutical Group (HK$252 million), and Kuaishou (HK$202 million). Southbound funds also saw net sales of Innovent Biologics (HK$402 million), Alibaba (HK$202 million), and SMIC (HK$177 million). Southbound funds have been net buyers of Tencent for seven consecutive days, totaling HK$3.542 billion; Xiaomi for six consecutive days, totaling HK$4.135 billion; and Meituan for three consecutive days, totaling HK$2.612 billion.

Tencent customer service responds: WeChat withdrawal fee lower limit adjusted to 0.01 yuan

Recently, the news that the WeChat withdrawal fee has been lowered to 0.01 yuan has sparked heated discussion on social media platforms. In response, Tencent's official customer service team stated on the 1st that the WeChat Pay withdrawal fee rules are as follows: after the free withdrawal limit is used up, any excess amount will be charged a service fee of 0.1% of the withdrawal amount. A single service fee of less than 0.01 yuan will be charged 0.01 yuan. This fee rate is system-set and cannot be adjusted proactively at this time. Customer service explained that all WeChat Pay accounts under the same ID card share a lifetime free withdrawal limit of 1,000 yuan, which cannot be increased beyond this limit. Users can reduce their fee expenses by redeeming free withdrawal coupons through the "Payment Discounts" or "Receive Gift Points" programs.

The Cyberspace Administration of China continues to promote the "license and display" project for Internet news information services

To further regulate online dissemination and enhance the recognition of internet news and information services, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) has been promoting the "licensed and displayed" initiative for internet news and information services this year. It has deployed guidance to local CACs to improve the quality and efficiency of approvals and urged 15 websites and platforms approved to provide internet news and information dissemination platform services, including Tencent, Douyin, Kuaishou, and Weibo, to optimize and improve their systems and strengthen verification of their service qualifications. A red "V" logo has been added to all public accounts approved to provide internet news and information services, essentially achieving full coverage of content formats including text, audio, live broadcasts, and short videos. Moving forward, the CAC will implement a systematized, procedural, and dynamic approach to promoting the "licensed and displayed" initiative for internet news and information services. It will also study and implement traffic support policies to help enhance the influence and reach of "Red V" accounts. Furthermore, it will vigorously address the production and dissemination of false and inaccurate news information, the impersonation of counterfeit news media, and the leasing, lending, or transfer of internet news and information service licenses. It will also severely crack down on those who seek illegal profits under the guise of public opinion oversight and undermine the online business environment, striving to foster a clean and transparent cyberspace.

On the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, Li Auto-W and CSPC Pharmaceutical Group saw net inflows of HK$1.806 billion and HK$530 million, respectively. Innovent Biologics saw the largest net inflow of HK$485 million. On the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect, Innovent Biologics and CSPC Pharmaceutical Group saw net inflows of HK$364 million and HK$343 million, respectively. Report: Overseas sales revenue of China's self-developed games will account for 33.62% in 2024

The "Game Industry Overseas Development Forum" at the 2025 Game Business Conference was held in Shanghai, where the "Research on the Globalization of China's Game Industry" report was released. The report states that after more than 20 years of development, the globalization of China's game industry has entered the early stages of localization. Leading Chinese game companies, represented by Tencent Games, have initially established localized research and development strategies and independent overseas brands. By 2024, overseas sales revenue of self-developed Chinese games will account for 33.62%. Currently, China and the United States are the world's two largest game markets, with market sizes expected to reach $47 billion and $46.1 billion in 2024, respectively.

The net inflow of southbound funds has hit a record high this year, and the upward trend of Hong Kong stocks is expected to continue.

Since the beginning of this year, southbound funds have continued to significantly increase their holdings in the Hong Kong stock market, becoming the largest source of incremental capital this year. Data shows that as of July 29th, the cumulative net inflow of southbound funds exceeded HK$840 billion this year, setting a new annual net inflow record and exceeding the net inflow of HK$807.869 billion in 2024. Driven by the substantial inflow of southbound funds, the Hong Kong stock market has performed strongly this year. As of the close of July 29th, the Hang Seng Index had risen by over 27%, and the Hang Seng Tech Index had risen by over 26%. All Hang Seng Index constituents with a total market capitalization exceeding HK$1 trillion rose, with Xiaomi Group-W, the largest gainer, rising by over 60%, and Tencent Holdings, the largest by market capitalization, rising by over 34%. Institutional analysts believe that the cumulative inflow of southbound funds may exceed HK$1 trillion for the entire year, with the pace of inflows likely to slow in the second half of the year. In the medium term, policy support driving fundamental recovery, coupled with continued improvement in the liquidity situation, is expected to lead to further upward movement in Hong Kong stocks.
