CATL's Jiang Li: In the next 20 years, 50% of the world's new battery production will bid farewell to mineral mining
During the "London Climate Action Week", Jiang Li, deputy general manager and secretary of the board of directors of CATL, said that in the next 20 years, 50% of the world's new battery production will bid farewell to mineral mining, and the battery industry chain will be used as a starting point to drive the energy system to transform towards a high-efficiency, low-carbon and sustainable system. In his view, "to make energy recycling an economy", by promoting the transformation of the entire life cycle of batteries from design, manufacturing, use to recycling and reuse, the battery recycling economy will open up a broad market space. It is predicted that by 2040, the global battery recycling market will exceed 1.2 trillion yuan.
